Lawana Sarrett

Lawana Sarrett passed from this life into the presence of Christ on Monday evening, January 11. She was born in Willisville, Arkansas on August 10, 1933 to Jesse Mitchell and Ora Price Mitchell. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Sam Sarrett. She is survived by her three sons Steve (wife, Cathy), Mike (wife, Julie), and Doug (wife, Eve), along with 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Lawana attended a new 18-month nursing program at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas that was sponsored by Baylor University. She received her diploma as a Licensed Technician Nurse (LTN) in August of 1953. Her first job was at Ouachita Hospital in Camden, Arkansas in September of 1953. She worked as a nurse for many years. Her final location of employment was Collom & Carney Clinic in Texarkana, Texas.
