Linda Sue “Suzie” Schleusener passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026. She was born on July 21, 1958, in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Ernest and Elizabeth Chilton.

Suzie was a graduate of Madison High School, Class of 1977. During the last 15 years of her working career, she devoted herself to caring for others as a caregiver before retiring in 2023. With a kind heart and a genuine love for people, Suzie found great joy in making others smile and brightening the lives of those around her.

One of Suzie's greatest joys in life was the love she shared with her husband, Chris. Their love story began one evening in May of 2000, when two people searching for love happened to find each other. Suzie made the first move by asking Chris to dance, and from that moment on, the rest was history. After 25 wonderful years together, the couple exchanged vows on May 25, 2025. Their relationship was filled with love, laughter, adventure, and countless cherished memories.

Suzie had a fun-loving spirit and a passion for enjoying all that life had to offer. She loved dancing, spending time at the beach, visiting amusement parks, watching scary movies, and decorating for the holidays. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Some of her favorite adventures included trips to Las Vegas and California, numerous vacations to Florida, and a memorable cruise. One of Chris's most treasured memories was proposing to Suzie in 2024, high above Panama City Beach on the Sky Wheel as the sun was setting. It was a beautiful moment in a love story that had already spanned more than two decades.

Suzie attended Madison Church of Christ and also served as a counselor at Valley View Christian Camp. Her caring nature, joyful personality, and ability to make others feel special were evident in the many ways she touched the lives of those around her.

Suzie was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Elizabeth Chilton.

She is survived by her loving husband, Chris Schleusener; her children, Shannon Dyer, Ashley Dyer Elizer, and Carissa Dyer; her grandchildren, Adrianna Stout, Isaac Capistran, Victoria Capistran, and Ryley Couts; her great-grandchildren, Rya Couts and Mya Couts; and her siblings, Katherine Spencer, Audrey Kafus, Joe Silverman, and Joseph Holt.

Suzie will be remembered for her loving heart, her joyful spirit, and the happiness she brought to those fortunate enough to know her. The beautiful memories she created and the love she so freely shared will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

Visitation for Suzie will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A funeral service celebrating Suzie's life will follow at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
