Loman Rudolph Dickens, age 89 of Madison, passed away Monday, November 2, 2009. Mr. Dickens served in the United States Army during World War II for which he received a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a long-time employee of Dupont, working there for 42 years and he served his community as a Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin H. and Daisy E. Gregory Dickens, as well as his wife, Era Bell Dickens and infant daughter, Carol. He is survived by his son, Larry Betty Dickens; his daughter, Janice Dickens; his sister, Erma Krantz; his grandchildren, Larry Melinda Dickens, Jr., Steven Tory Dickens and Beth Russ Edwards; and his great-grandchildren, Tristan, Katie, Ariel, Elizabeth and Christian. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM, Saturday, November 7, 2009 from the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Dr. Hyeon Sik Hong officiating. Interment will follow in the Hendersonville Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2 – 8 P.M. on Friday, November 6, 2009 at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 615824-3855.
