Lorna Chronis

1931 — January 1, 2023

Lorna Diane Wycoff Chronis age 91 passed away peacefully on February 17, 2023, after living a long and full life.  Lorna was born in LA County CA. on July 30, 1931. Her humble beginnings were at a time when many were impoverished and struggling.  Lorna and her siblings formed a bond that provided her lifelong strength and courage that led to the successes over her life.  Lorna advanced her career to become the first female marketing executive at Blue Cross Blue Shield.  From there her experience and character lead her career into consulting for many healthcare companies for the development of  healthcare systems and plans.  Lorna generously volunteered her time, experience, and effort to organizations from Earth watch to local organizations such as St. Luke Lutheran Church in Michigan City IN.  Later in life Lorna moved to Tennessee and lived at Red Cedar Glen, a small retirement community in Hendersonville TN. Lorna loved her residence, lifestyle, and the many good friends she cherished.

Lorna took great interest in health, wellbeing, and spirituality. She loved to sing. She loved music, poetry, and all forms of art. She loved nature, spending countless hours hiking the foothills of Tucson and the lakeshore and nature habitats around Michiana Shores IN. She loved to work in her garden and yard around her home in Michiana Shores IN enjoying nature and wildlife. Religion was important to Lorna, she regularly attended St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Michigan City IN. where she sang in the choir and participated in administrative duties.

Lorna had an immense capacity to love and appreciate everyone she encountered in life. She lived a life of joy; she loved to laugh and tell stories of experiences big and small from the past and present day. Lorna was engaging, her interest was to find positive aspects of whomever was conversing with her. All those that she touched could feel her interest and feelings were genuine and loving.  Lorna loved her cats and showed sympathy for those who did not have homes by volunteering in local rescue, fostering and adoption programs.

Lorna cherished family. Lorna was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and great Grandmother. Every conversation and interaction with family members was always intermixed and ended with Lorna saying how she loved us and how much she treasured being together. Seeing the family grow with strong-willed and compassionate people was a great source of pride and appreciation for Lorna. Lorna is preceded in death by her spouse George Chronis and Daughter Victoria Wycoff.  Lorna is survived by her children Robert Smith, Arthur (Judy) Lindaman, and Scot (Jenifer) Lindaman, Patricia (John) Jurinek, Barb Miller, Grandchildren, John, Kim, Elizabeth, Melissa, JD, Owen, George, Great Grand Children Germain, Gabby, Maysie, Mckenna, and many loving family members.

Family and friends will celebrate Lorna’s life at a date to be established in the near future.
