We lost our Dad unexpectedly Sunday morning, April 3 at 77 years of age. He retired his real estate license on their 56th wedding anniversary to spend more time with his wife Sharon traveling through their bucket list quest to see all 50 states. He and Sharon experienced 38, including Hawaii, where they spent their 25th wedding anniversary.
Louis Geoffrey Miles was born in Media, PA. His parents were Louis Abram and Kathleen Lumb Miles, his younger brothers Gerald (2020) and Gary. The Media High School graduate of 1962 communicated often with his classmates who called him Melvin. Lou met his wife Sharon Clark of Marion, KY while attending Bethel University in McKenzie, TN. He and Sharon stayed close to their college fraternity family throughout the years. After graduation in 1966, he and Sharon returned to Media to start their family. In 1975, Lou accepted a position in Nashville, choosing to move Sharon, daughter Alisa, and son Geoffrey to Hendersonville, TN where he enjoyed spending time trolling his bass boat on Old Hickory and other lakes fishing with friends, family, or just with nature.
Our Dad was happy when our Mother was happy. He was proud of their accomplishments and gave the best example for Alisa, Geoffrey, and grandson Blake. He showed us how to be honest, compassionate, and caring in the most humble way. In Dad’s initial career as an insurance claims adjuster, he focused on helping the person(s). In 1995, Dad found a new career to help people when he joined Sharon to make the real estate team “We go the extra Miles for you.”
To enable Lou to continue to help people, please donate to the Dystonia Foundation. He was honored to spend time helping his son just get through life after his disorder became disabling. There are no programs to help Geoff get to doctor appointments due to his inability to speak or help with his daily needs with the shortage in approved skilled caregivers. For Dad, please spread the word to broaden people’s awareness of the disorder.

Let’s gather to honor Lou. Please join the family - Sharon, wife; daughter and son-in-law Alisa and Bret McCulley; son Geoffrey and his son Blake Conyer, Blake’s wife Courtney and their son Ryker in Rockland Park alongside the lake he loved. If you have a story or thought to share with us, please write it down and bring it for us to read sometime in the future. We are grilling burgers and dogs. Bring a beverage with you… Maybe something you think Lou would like…
His final open house is Saturday, April 23 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Pavilion 2B in Rockland Park at 5 Power Plant Road, Hendersonville, TN 37075
