Margaret Jean Carter-age 82 years old of Hendersonville, TN, passed away peacefully on February 17. She was surrounded by those she dearly loved leading up to the time she passed. Margaret was born in Okolona, MS on August 14, 1943. She is one of seven children. She attended Okolona High School where she enjoyed playing basketball and then pursued a career in Cosmetology. Prior to moving to Hendersonville, TN in 1978, she lived in Houston, MS. She owned a beauty salon both in Mississippi and in Tennessee. She enjoyed talking and taking care of her customers. Her beauty salon often reminded those of the movie Steele Magnolias featuring Dolly Parton.
She loved celebrating the holidays with her beloved family, cook-outs during the summer, gardening, beautiful flowers, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson. All of these activities encompassed the family she loved so dearly. She also loved to play cards, especially Rook.
She was influenced most by those she loved, her husband of 55 years before he passed, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and above all, Christ. Margaret was a woman of strong faith in the Lord. She was a member of the Hendersonville Church of Christ and lived by example.
