Marjean W. Rich, affectionately known as Jean, passed away peacefully at her residence on June 12, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on April 16, 1929, in Baxley, Georgia, she graduated from Appling County High School before embarking on a fulfilling career as a hairdresser, where her kind and compassionate spirit touched the lives of many.
In 1978, Marjean and her family made the move to Hendersonville, Tennessee where she continued to offer warmth and generosity to those around her. Known for her welcoming demeanor, she built lasting relationships within her community, which she enriched through her work and personal connections. Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, and her proudest accomplishment was being a devoted mother. She also became a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Marjean had a passion for gardening and often found joy in nurturing beautiful blooms. She also dedicated her time to volunteering at nursing homes, extending her compassion to those in need. Her legacy is carried on by her loving family, including her daughters, Delane DuBose and Deborah DuBose Wilcox (Bob); her sons, Hank DuBose (Laura) and George DuBose (Leslie); her grandchildren, Sarah Coffey (Matt), Luke DuBose, Dustin DuBose (Jennifer), and Jared DuBose; as well as five great-grandchildren.
Marjean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William "Bill" Rich, her five sisters, and her grandson, Samuel Henry DuBose. As we remember Jean, we celebrate her life filled with love, kindness, and a generosity that left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
