Mark Herron

Mark Edgar Herron (68) passed away peacefully on December 15, 2022 in Nashville, Tennessee surrounded by loved ones after a year long battle with leukemia.

Born to Al and Bettie Herron on January 26, 1954, Mark was raised in Tennessee. He graduated from Memphis State University with a degree in Business Administration. Mark spent his entire professional career working for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development where he made many lifelong friends.

Mark loved being outdoors, hiking, walking and watching the deer in the neighborhood. He enjoyed attending sporting events with his friends.

Mark is survived by Jackie Vandercook, his soulmate and best friend, his sister, Holly Herron and his sister-in-law, Sarah Herron. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends that meant so much to him throughout his life. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Bettie, and his brother, Lee.

Mark’s wonderful sense of humor, great smile, thoughtfulness and kind heart will be missed by all the people who knew and loved him. He was always eager to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Mark lived his life joyfully and treasured time with his friends and family.
