Martha Lillian McCormick, 81, passed away with her loving family by her side on March 1, 2026. Martha was born on November 29, 1944, to Edward Lee and Elsie Irene (Bray) Livingston in Franklin, Kentucky.
Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a long-time educator in the Sumner County School District, retiring after 31 years of dedicated service. Martha was not only a Christian public servant but had attended church and served God her entire life in numerous ways. Her love of learning and dedication to educating others through her faithful service as a Sunday School teacher, Youth Group Director, and Sunday School Superintendent for many years brought her joy, along with volunteering for many other acts of service alongside her husband. Martha married the love of her life Gerald McCormick on July 3, 1964, celebrating nearly 62 years of a covenant marriage grounded in God’s Word.
Martha is preceded in death by her parents, her sister Margaret Sue (Jack) Woodward, baby brother Edward Bray Livingston, and her nephew Charlie Lee Woodward. She is survived by her loving husband Gerald McCormick, daughters Sonja Leigh (Jim “J.C.”) Clark, and Alysia Michelle (Jeremy) DeLoach, along with her grandchildren Aaron McKendree Bible, Caleb Benjamin (Rachael) Clark, Austin Lee (fiance’ Olivia Calatrava) Bible, Hannah Noelle (Ryan) Brown, Isaac Lee Clark, and Tristin Grace DeLoach. In addition, she is survived by her great-grandchildren Kayden McKendree Bible, Darcy Sue Clark, Carter Isaiah Brown. She was loved by a host of cherished friends and her church family at Center Point.
A visitation will be held at Center Point Church in Hendersonville, Tennessee from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The funeral service will begin at the church on Friday, March 6, 2026, at 1pm with visitation beginning at 11am. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
