Norah Lee Allen, a luminary in the country music scene, passed away peacefully March 31st, at the age of 76. Born and raised in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Norah Lee was a beacon of talent, grace, and kindness throughout her remarkable life.

Norah Lee's journey into the music world began at a tender age, singing with her sisters in The Stuart Sisters Trio under the guidance of their father. Her innate talent blossomed early, leading her to join the Legendary Chuck Wagon Gang in 1968, where she honed her skills as a country gospel singer. On September 22nd, 1969, she married Duane Allen, lead singer of The Oak Ridge Boys, embarking on a partnership that lasted over five decades.
Her career took her to Nashville, where she became renowned for her exceptional vocal ability. From her early days at Benson Publishing Group to her tenure as a background vocalist at the Grand Ole Opry, Norah Lee's versatility and professionalism shone brightly. Over 40 years, she graced the Opry stage, lending her voice to countless performances alongside some of the biggest names in the industry.

In 2022, Norah Lee was honored with induction into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame, a testament to her enduring impact on the music world. Her legacy as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as her contributions to country music, will forever be cherished.

Norah Lee is survived by her loving husband of 54 years and 8 months, Duane Allen; her children: daughter Jamie Allen Martin, son-in-law Paul Martin, and son Dee Allen; her grandchildren: March, Kell, Texas, and Tallant Martin. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Martha Shannon, brother-in-law George Sells, and her beloved nieces & nephews: Dale and Carol Miller, Mindy and Seth Alexander, and George and Julie Sells. Her great nieces and nephews, including Riley, Regan and Reese Miller, and Quinn and Samantha Sells. All of whom will carry on her memory with love and reverence.

In her passing, Norah Lee reunites with her beloved mother Ima Mae Stuart, father Noble Stuart, sisters Sandra Stuart Sells and Lana Stuart Miller, and brother-in-law Maurice Miller. Additionally, she is joined by her infant daughter, Julie Anna, and infant great-nephews Reid and Randon Miller.

Norah Lee will be remembered not only for her extraordinary talent but also for her humor, kindness, generosity, and faith. Her gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.

The funeral arrangements for Norah Lee Allen will be held in two locations:

  • Tuesday, April 2 at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, 106 Bluegrass Commons Blvd, Hendersonville, TN 37075 Visitation: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Service: 2:00 PM
  • Wednesday, April 3 at Stuart’s Chapel, 6002 Stuart Chapel Road, Lewisburg, KY 42256   Visitation: 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM Service: 2:00 PM Burial will follow immediately.

Flowers (which Norah Lee loved!) may be sent to First Baptist Church (Hendersonville, TN) or Price’s Funeral Home (Lewisburg, KY).
