She lived life to the fullest for sixty-eight years until she passed from this life on June 8, 2016.
Patricia was born to the late James Hall and Marie Strief in Monticello, Iowa on March 16, 1948. While growing up she worked in her parent's restaurant and bar in Epworth, Iowa as a waitress. Unfortunately, she lost her father when she was a young adult. However, as fate would have it, she met her husband when her mother married her step-father.
Together, Patricia and her husband, Loras owned and operated Vaske Implement Company in Manchester, Iowa. In 1978, they moved to Hendersonville to open Coaches, Inc., a bus garage for many of the country music stars. The garage was located on Maple Street in Hendersonville, TN and was the very first Prevost distributor in the United States. After selling that business, Patricia went on to apply her skills in Insurance Collections. In fact, she earned several awards for her dedicated service and even a getaway trip to Hawaii. Patricia will always live on in our hearts for her warm personality and her uncanny sense of humor.
Her children recall a story about a lawnmower on the roof of the house early in her marriage. Patricia was also banned from several casinos in Las Vegas for counting cards and she even got to keep her fingers. She was quite the prankster! Despite her day-to-day playfulness, she endured her share of hardship. In 2006, she survived a tornado which destroyed her home. After forty-two years of marriage, her husband, Loras passed away in 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Hall and Marie Strief; step-father, Charlie Strief; brother, Michael Hall; and her loving husband of 42 years, Loras Vaske. Patricia is survived by her son, Brian Vaske; daughter, Shawna (Mike) Winham; grandchildren, Travis, Brooke, and Braden Vaske, and Jessica and Maggie Winham; sister, Jacci Ament; and countless friends who knew her as "Momma Vaske."
