Among her most treasured memories were the births of her children and the blessings of her marriages. Patsy was first united in marriage to Alvin Ray Chesnut on September 20, 1950, sharing 46 years together until his passing in 1996. She later found love again and married Roy Willard Hunter on December 27, 2004. They remained devoted to one another until Roy's passing in 2016.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Ray Chesnut and Roy Willard Hunter; her son, Alvin Lynn Chesnut, who passed away in 2017; and her sister, Betty Bee "Betty" New.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son, Jerry Ellis Chesnut; her daughter-in-law, Shari Ann Watkins; and her nephew, Sidney Austin New, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
