Phillip Wayne
Baggett
December 14, 1977 – February 19, 2026
Phillip Wayne Baggett, born December 14, 1977, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on February 19, 2026. He was known for his warm personality and deep love for his family, bringing joy and laughter to everyone who knew him.
As a mechanic, Phillip had a special talent for working on cars, but it was his role as a family man that filled his heart with the most pride. He cherished every moment shared with his loved ones, whether it was during the much-adored family dinner times or the exhilarating family game nights sometimes shared with friends. There was never a dull moment when the Baggett’s gathered around for a spirited round of Uno—where mercy was always in short supply!
Phillip was the king of fun, often finding joy in embarrassing his kids whenever he could. Whether he was dancing enthusiastically at choir concerts or wearing a speedo at the pool, he knew how to draw smiles and roaring laughter. His playful spirit shone brightly during karaoke nights, where he and his wife, Ashley, would sing their hearts out—often dragging the kids into the fun whenever they were willing.
Not just a lighthearted soul, Phillip had an innate ability to be the emotional anchor for his family. He knew just what to say to lift their spirits when they were down, while also providing a dose of tough love when it was essential.
Phillip's passions extended beyond family; he loved to relax with a drink in hand, often enjoying apple crown chilled or blackberry crown mixed with tea. Music was another great love of his, especially the rock classics of the '80s and musicals like Rent which often filled his home with energy and nostalgia. Additionally, he loved spending time at the beach, partying on the lake, or the pool creating countless memories with those he adored.
Among his favorite memories were the bowling trips he shared with Ashley. They competed at nationals for two years in a row, traveling to places like Las Vegas and Baton Rouge, but their time in New Orleans remained their favorite.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Tomlinson Baggett; sons Markus Baggett and Tyler Baggett (Isabelle Johnson); daughters Bryana Baggett (Austin Beckius), Bailey Searcy (Nick Searcy), and Makenzie Edmonds; brother Tracey Baggett (Pam Baggett); and mother Clara Denton (Jessie Denton); nephews Michael Keller (Sara Keller), John Lee King, and James King; and his niece Myranda Gober (Blake Gober).
Family and friends are invited to gather in his honor for a visitation on February 28, 2026, from 4 PM to 6 PM, followed by a memorial service at 6 PM, at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Hendersonville, TN.
