Pierce Harover, 85, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on Sunday, October 4, 2020.

Born July 10, 1935, in Maysville, Kentucky, he is preceded in death by his parents Iona and Pierce Harover, brothers Donald Harover of Lexington, Kentucky, and Scotty Harover of Maysville, Kentucky.

Survived by wife of 61 years, Barbara; children Lynn Takacs (Tim) Hendersonville, Tennessee; Laura Lessley, Daytona Beach, Florida; and Nelson Harover, Smyrna, Tennessee. Pierce retired from Nationwide Insurance after 50 years of service, most of that time here in Hendersonville.

Pierce served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the local VFW Post 9851. Pierce was an active member of the Hendersonville Noon Sertoma Club.

Many may remember Pierce on the Hendersonville Parks Soccer Fields as a referee and a coach. He was honored to be named to the inaugural Soccer Wall of Fame.

When not on the soccer field Pierce was on the lake fishing! A longtime fisherman, he taught all his children and grandchildren how to fish and probably a few others along the way.

Retirement made time for another activity: golf. This slow-paced game allowed for many tall tales and stories with his golfing buddies.

No funeral service is to be held at this time. The family will host a celebration of life event when we can all be together safely.

In lieu of flowers, please support your local business or local non- profits or The American Cancer Society. Pierce's passion was service, his work and leisure activities were in Hendersonville.
