Richard O'Leary

Richard (RC) O'Leary age 82 of Hendersonville, Tn.  passed away on June 21,2022 after courageously battling a lengthy illness.

RC is survived by his wife, Sherrye O'Leary, sons Richard O'Leary of Davenport, Iowa, PJ O'Leary of Hendersonville, Tn. and granddaughter Lexi Orcutt of Davenport, Iowa as well as his loving sisters, Lori Mucci of Warren, Rhode Island and Jean Brady of Brockton, Massachusetts, sister and brother-in law Geary and Dianne Jonas of Rural Retreat, Virginia.  He is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was very proud of his service to his country.  During his four years of service in the Air Force he was stationed in both Germany and France and participated in the Congo conflict on the flight line.

RC's two passions in life were his music and fishing.  He was lucky enough to be able to enjoy both loves.  He was on the road many years playing drums and also as an entertainer himself.  He loved his music and enjoyed songwriting with several close friends.  We are so fortunate to have his voice on albums and CD's that we can listen to forever.   His other passion was fishing.  He was able to commercial fish in his beloved waters of Cape Cod for many years and when he relocated to Tennessee, he was able to continue freshwater tournament fishing.

A Memorial Service with military honors has been scheduled for August 6th @ 11 a.m. in the Gazebo at the Hendersonville Funeral Home.  Friends and family are all welcome to attend.  The family will be available for visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Tennessee Wildlife Federation.   RC's final wishes included interment of his ashes in the Cape Cod Canal that he loved so very much.

He will be missed by family and friends, but heaven has gained a heavenly voice.
