Bob Frazer, 80, died on October 18, 2023 in Nashville with his wife and daughters by his side. 

Bob was born in May 1943 in Harvey, Illinois to Marie Evans Frazer and O. Wayne Frazer.  He grew up with his three sisters, Betty, Barbara, and Beverly, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. As a boy, Bob helped his dad raise and show champion golden retrievers.  

Bob attended Iowa State University, receiving a degree in electrical engineering. He was a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, active in ROTC, and a champion checker player. After college, Bob served in the Army in Bangkok, Thailand from 1967 to 1970. After his service, Bob moved to Fort Collins, Colorado where he received his MBA from Colorado State University and had his two daughters with their mother Oui. Bob spent his career with Hewlett Packard and Agilent, including posts in Loveland, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, and Santa Rosa, California.  

Bob was an avid runner, finishing a dozen marathons, including several Bostons, with the last one at age 69.  He loved travel and wine, and made friends everywhere he went. Bob remained active in the Army Reserves, retiring in 1994 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Bob is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary Ann, sister Barbara Colligan, and his two daughters Monica Irvine (Peter, children Pierson and Marshall) and Laura Peterson (children Logan and Erin). He was also loved by a large group of extended family, including David, Ben, Cheri, Debbie, Dawn, Danielle, Mike, Vonnie, Donna, Cliff, John, and many other Frazer, Cook, and Tatar family members, as well as his brothers in arms.

A celebration of life will be held in Colorado in early November - please contact Laura Peterson ( for details. His wishes are to be laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to one of these organizations:
