Ronald Kleist

Ronald “Ron” Dean Kleist, age 85, formerly of Michigan City, IN passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 in Hendersonville, TN. He was surrounded by love from his daughter & her family.

Ron was born to Frederick & Frances (Stout) Kleist.

Ron attended LaPorte High School and served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany.

He is survived by his wife, Marlene (Sue) Kleist. Also surviving are his daughter Michelle & son-in-law Tim Camarena of Hendersonville, TN; two grandchildren, Reileigh & Ramzee Camarena of Hendersonville, TN; two siblings Patricia (late Roger) Gault of Laporte, IN & Norm (Karen) Kleist of Laporte, IN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews & friends.

He was predeceased by his parents & his sister Arlene Bladecki.

Ron was employed for many years as a millwright at Bethlehem  Steel from which he retired. He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa Fraternity in Michigan City. He enjoyed golfing with his brothers from Phi Delts, cooking, watching sports, and socializing with his friends & family. Ron’s greatest joy was his daughter Michelle & grandchildren.

He was a wonderful father, father-in-law & grandfather. He had a great sense of humor, strong work ethic and a friend to everyone he met. He was a strong, kind, loving, and a supportive father. His knowledge & guidance was the foundation of his family. He will be deeply missed.

Per his wishes, cremation will take place.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Michigan City, IN at a later date.
