Rosa Lee Diener Janisse, age 84, of Nashville passed away on August 16, 2025. Rose was born on June 29, 1941, in Dubuque, Iowa to the late Leo J. Diener and Laraine Mary Locher Diener. She touched the lives of many through her vibrant personality, generosity of spirit, and unyielding love for her family and friends.
Rose's life was characterized by her unwavering passion for the things she loved. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, creating countless memories filled with laughter and joy. Her adventurous spirit led her to enjoy playing slot machines, a pastime that brought her both excitement and an opportunity to connect with those around her. She was not only a player but a true follower of politics, engaging in conversations and staying informed about the world.
A lover of literature, Rose found solace in reading, often losing herself in the pages of her favorite books. She embraced the joys of modern technology, delighting in the connections made possible by Facebook. She loved spending time outdoors, where she would enjoy the sunshine, appreciating nature's beauty and the world around her.
Rose's heart was equally warm for animals, she especially adored cats. Her newest companion, a playful kitten named Eddie, brought an abundance of joy into her life, further illustrating her nurturing spirit.
Rose loved to go on cruises with her beloved husband, marking special milestones and creating memories that would be treasured forever. These experiences encapsulated her love for exploration and adventure, echoing her dedicated approach to life.
Rose was educated at The Academy of The Visitation, an institution that laid the foundation for the compassionate and spirited individual she became. Rose was a devoted member of St. Edward Catholic Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She found strength, community, and peace within the parish.
In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her spouse, Edward Willis Janisse; her brother, Joseph Diener; and her sisters, Leah Louise Diener and Diane Diener Birtman.
Rose is survived by her children, Terri Rose Johnson (Hollis), Thomas Leo Janisse, and Mary Shella Orr (Jeffrey); her grandchildren, Tommy Janisse (Rachel), Danny Janisse, Joey Janisse, Brandon Orr, John Orr (Mae), Marie Rose Johnson, Hollis Johnson V (Hojo), Sophia Marie Stiles, and Shel Stiles V; her great grandchildren, Olivia Lyn Janisse and Ace Leo Janisse; her sister, Mary Diener Stoup; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate the remarkable life of Rose Janisse with a series of services to honor her legacy. The visitation will be held on August 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Hendersonville, TN. Interment will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 12:00 PM. Later that day, a celebration of life will gather loved ones at the home of Jeff and Mary Orr in Nashville, TN, starting at 3:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Alive Hospice or St. Jude.
Rose will be remembered for her kindness, zest for life, and the love she so freely shared. Her legacy will continue to inspire those she encountered, leaving indelible marks on the hearts of all who knew her.
