Mrs. Ruby Mae Wilson age 93, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Thursday, March 11, 2021.

Mrs. Wilson was born on June 26, 1927, in Jamestown, TN, the daughter of the late Henry Rosco Cooper and America Clementine King Cooper. She helped her parents with the family farm and with raising her siblings, Cletis, Bill, Evelyn, Treva, and Mack. Ruby was the last surviving member of her family. Very few people know that Ruby played basketball in school. She was the teams star player and in fact, failed her final year on purpose, so she could go back to play another year on the team.

Ruby moved to Detroit, MI where she met and married Albert Wilson in the fall of 1953. On January 1, 1976 Ruby moved back to Tennessee to be close to her sisters and joined Victory Missionary Baptist Church where she taught in the Sunday School nursery for thirty years. To know Ruby was to love Ruby. She was known as Nanny to twin granddaughters, Brittany and Brooke and grandson Ryan, but almost everyone that knew her called her "Nanny" or "Nanny Ruby".

In addition to her parents and siblings, Mrs. Wilson is preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wilson and a son, Donald Ray Wilson.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheila Allison (Bobby); step-daughter, Lyn Wilson; three granddaughters, Brittany Schleicher Mori (John), Brooke Elizabeth Cunningham (Josh), and Brandi Wilson; grandson, Ryan Wilson; and seven great-grandchildren, Jackson Cunningham, Luke Cunningham, Olivia Wilson, Maddox Wilson, Carter Wilson, William Wilson, and Luca Mori. Several nieces and nephew also survive.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 15, 2021, at 1:00 P.M., Victory Missionary Baptist Church with Elder Tim Binion and a nephew, Dwayne Greer officiating. Interment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour at Victory Missionary Baptist Church.
