Rudy Allen Lindsey, Sr, beloved husband, father, and grandfather of Hendersonville, TN, passed away peacefully on August 1st, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Earl Lindsey and Velma Johnson Lindsey, two infant sons, Michael Anthony Lindsey and Timothy Earl Lindsey as well as 2 sisters and 5 brothers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Faye Bracey Lindsey, and four children-Rudy A. Lindsey, Jr (Mitzi), Renae Pearson (Eric), Angie Wingo (Luke) and Aaron Lindsey (Lori).
He was a wonderful Pawpaw to 23 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and was adored by them all. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, cousins and special friends.
Rudy was born in Nashville TN on October 9,1936.
After attending East High School in Nashville, Rudy joined the U.S. Army and served our country. He later earned his degree in Biblical studies from Trevecca Nazarene University. Rudy worked for Roadway Express for 32 years.
Rudy loved his family fiercely, loved studying the word of God and memorizing scripture and was a gifted painter, but most of all he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and told anyone that would listen about Jesus.
Visitation will be on Sunday, August 4th, 2024, from 3:00pm –7:00pm at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, located at 353 E Main St, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
On Monday, August 5th, visitation will be from 10:00am until 12:00 noon at Long Hollow Church, located at 3031 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN 37075 followed by the funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon.
The burial will be immediately after the funeral service at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, located at 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, TN 37075.
Grandsons serving as Paw Bearers: Rudy Lindsey III, Sam Lindsey, James Lindsey, Trey Wingo, Matt Wingo, Joshua Duke, Tim Duke & Jonathan Duke.
Honorary Paw Bearers will be: Michael Duke, Alan Duke, and very special family friends Fred & Dee Schwarz, Roger & Barbara Elliott, Nick and Debbie Kimmons, and Rudy’s best friends-John and Cheryl Dismukes.
Special thanks to nurses, caregivers and staff at Capstone Assisted Living and to Adoration Hospice Care for their wonderful care, especially nurse Tammy Brown.
