Mr. Sam Lynn McIllwain, age 78 passed away on December 25, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Hazel McIllwain, and one brother, Jim McIllwain.

Sam lived his school years in Parsons, TN and graduated from Parsons High School class of 1959. He graduated from UT Knoxville in Civil Engineering in 1964. He was part owner of Water Management Services Consulting Engineers in Nashville since 1983.

Sam is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mrs. Amelia (Mimi) Dunn McIllwain; son David (Christina) McIllwain; grandchildren, Tague, Sophie, Estee, and H; and daughter, Amy (Todd) McIllwain Brown; grandchildren, Allie (Jonathan) Brown Lewis and grandson, Cooper Brown.

A life celebration will be held at 1pm, Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 10am-1pm Saturday prior to the service. Burial will take place at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Family asks that in lieu of flower donations be made to Humane Society of Sumner County or Community Church of Hendersonville/focus2020 Campaign.
