Sandra Atnip Brown, age 78, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away on June 29, 2020.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Lee Atnip and Elizabeth Allene Atnip. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dr. Benjamin H. Brown Jr., their daughters, Elizabeth Ashley Brown Brown (Clint) of Nashville, Margaret Allison Brown Bowen of Nashville, and Amy Anne Brown Bell (Jeremy) of Mountain Brook, Alabama, her grandchildren, Elizabeth Blair Brown, John Benjamin Bell and Anne Catherine Bell. In addition, she is survived by her beloved Maltese, Sonny Brown.

Sandy was born July 10, 1941 in Smithville, Tennessee and was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. Prior to marriage, she spent many years with Third National Bank in Nashville. It was there that she met her husband. Married in 1973, Sandy and Ben began their life together in Gainesville, Florida, where he was completing a graduate degree. They returned to Tennessee, eventually residing in Hendersonville until the time of her death. The primary focus of Sandy's life was creating a loving home and caring for her husband and three daughters. She later enjoyed lending her talents to the Law Offices of Jim Fuqua and Randy Stamps.

She enjoyed traveling with her family, spending time with her adored grandchildren, caring for her roses, and most importantly, treasured her faith. She was deeply loved and will forever be missed.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, July 5, 2020 and from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020. A Celebration of Life, led by Mark McInteer of Hillsboro Church of Christ, will begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 6, 2020. All services will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 353 East Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075. The family welcomes contributions to the Hillsboro Church of Christ in honor of Sandra Brown, as an expression of sympathy in lieu of flowers.
