A native of Stamford, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Kuttroff. Known for her perceptive wit and kind-hearted character. Not only was she a devoted wife, but she also encouraged and supported her daughter’s dreams to pursue a master’s degree at Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Loury had a deep appreciation for nature, her church, research, and her community. She also loved music and rose gardens, often reflecting on the beauty of Monticello and incorporating elements of that landscape into her own garden. Dr. Loury was an avid collector of medical antiques and first-edition Nancy Drew books. She enjoyed listening to Allison Krause, Manheim Steamroller, and Fleetwood Mac.
Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Paige Bruce of Hendersonville, Tennessee. Charles and Cheryl Loury of West Covina, California. Douglas and Marianne Loury of Utah.
