Sherman Morris Brown "Pops", 82 of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2019. Preceded in death by his wife Gloria, parents, Edward and Ida (Smith) Brown, son, Sterling Brown and his sister Shirley. Survived by his children; Kevin Brown (Kelly), Devin Brown and Brandon Brown (Christine), grandchildren; Shannon, Sherman (Jeana), Shelby, Savannah, Sarah, Devin, Rachel, T.J. (Rachel), Haley and Luke along with several great-grandchildren. Sherman is also survived by dog "Pancho" along with many extended family and friends.
Sherman was born on April 3, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee. While serving in the United States Air Force, he met his wife Gloria. They lived in Duluth, Minnesota and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee. Sherman, along with Gloria, owned Brown's Insurance for over 40 years. Working with Gloria and being with her everyday was a very special time for Sherman. He was a Mason and a longtime member of Hendersonville Church of Christ. He enjoyed wood working, making leather items, was an avid golfer and even took Karate. Sherman was the perfect father and best "Pops" to his grandchildren. Sherman will be dearly missed by his family and by all that knew him.
A celebration of life service for Sherman will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville on Thursday, November 14th at 11:00 AM, officiated by Pastor Larry Graham. Visitation for family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 13th from 4:00 PM 8:00 PM and again on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Entombment will be held in the Mausoleum at Hendersonville Memory Gardens following the service.
