Shirley A. McIntyre

Shirley Ann McIntyre, 78, passed away on March 29, 2025. Shirley was born on October 7, 1946, in Louisville, Kentucky. Shirley was a precious lady who loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devout Christian.

Shirley met the love of her life James “Ernie” McIntyre when she was 12 years old. They married in 1963 and enjoyed 38 years together. Shirley loved spending time at Kentucky Lake with her extended family and fishing with her father-in-law Sid McIntyre. Spending holidays and visiting with her family; especially her grandchildren was one of her favorite things to do. She was a voracious reader, enjoying reading all things history, as well as watching old Westerns. She called those dearest to her “Angel” as they were all special to her. Her family and friends will miss her wonderful laugh.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Ernie McIntyre, her son James “Tony” McIntyre, and her parents Benjamin T. Corley and Elizabeth M. Young, brothers James Corley, Charles Corley, and Benjamin Corley. She is survived by her daughters Paula (Duane) Vinson, and Melissa (Mark) Wright; grandchildren James “Bradley” Vinson, Bryan C. (Rebecca) Vinson, Duane “Brenton” (Amanda) Vinson, Joshua S. Jeanette, James S. Boling, Justin McIntyre, and Sarah McIntyre (Dakota) Miller; numerous great-grandchildren, brothers Jack Corley and Thomas Corley. In addition, she is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville, Kentucky for Shirley’s family and friends at a later date.
