Shirley A. Simpson

 Shirley Ann (Rogers) Simpson, 83 of Hendersonville, TN, passed from this life peacefully in her home May 5th, 2026. Known as “Mama” to family, she was born January 11th, 1943 in Osceola, Arkansas. Shirley graduated from Nettleton High School, Jonesboro, Arkansas in 1961. She married the love of her life, James Edward Simpson and she worked for many years in the Nettleton School system where she made many friends and memories. In 1986 she and James moved to Hendersonville, TN and she went to work at Beck-Arnley parts in Nashville,TN before retiring in 2005. She loved camping, especially with her grandkids, traveling and vacationing at the beach.

 She was preceded in death by her parents Juanita Rose Buzzard and Travis Rogers. She was also preceded in death by her brother J.T. Rogers and sister Sandra (Rogers) Brown, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas. 

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James Edward Simpson, her sister Linda Camp of Jonesboro, AR, two daughters, Jamie Brown (spouse Jim “Moose” Brown) Goodlettsville, TN, and Holly Carmack (spouse Jon Carmack) Hendersonville, TN. 

She leaves behind seven grandchildren. Jeremy Brown (spouse Laura Brown) Hendersonville, TN, Josh Brown of Goodlettsville, TN, Brandon Carmack (spouse Lacey Carmack) Gallatin, TN, Alli Fuqua (spouse Blake Fuqua) Hendersonville, TN, Hannah Gaddy (spouse Frank Gaddy) Hendersonville, TN, Will Carmack of Hendersonville, TN and Wes Carmack of Hendersonville, TN. 

She also leaves behind five Great Grandchildren. Jackson Brown, Oliver Brown, Brooks Brown, all of Hendersonville, TN, Lilah Brown, and Emma Brown of Plainfield, IN. 

Visitation will be 1pm Saturday, May 9th, 2026 at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens 353 E Main St, Hendersonville, TN 37075, service to immediately follow at 2pm
