Susan Stiddum passed away in Nashville on February 2, 2023 at the age of 70. The daughter of the late James Alton Stiddum and Betty Lee Pendleton Stiddum, with family roots in Tennessee’s Jackson and Warren Counties, she grew up in East Nashville and attended Madison High School before obtaining a Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Tennessee.
Susan was a longtime employee of the Metro Nashville Police Department, serving as secretary to the South Precinct Captain, Rick Lankford, before her retirement in 2010, after 34 years of service.
Predeceasing Susan were both parents; her stepmother, Katherine (Kitty) Moore; her uncle, John Burr Pendleton, Jr.; her aunt, Doris Marie Pendleton Swift; and her cousins, John King Swift, Michael David Swift, Gary William Swift, Johnny Pendleton and Reed Pendleton.
Surviving Susan are her uncle, Franklin Pendleton (Micki), as well as cousins Brad Pendleton (Zee) and Nicki Wood (Tom). Other family members include Keith Garstin (Calvert) & Christian Garstin, along with Terry Pendleton, Mark Swift and Matthew Swift.
Susan had many talents. She loved making pottery and giving her beautiful pieces to friends and family. She was a wonderful cook, hosting holiday dinners and Christmas cookie parties for her friends. Susan was also an accomplished seamstress and crafter. She will be missed by her family and friends, especially Bobbi, Brenda and Julie.

Graveside services will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, 353 E. Main St., Hendersonville, Tenn. 37075, on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at 2 p.m.
