Thomas Bates Sr.

Thomas "Tommy" Edward Bates Sr., age 57, of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, July 19th, 2020. Preceded in death by his parents: James and Dorothea (Benz) Bates. Survived by his "ex-wife" and life partner, Cheryl, son, TJ Bates, daughter, Jennifer Bates, sisters; Margaret Ann Flatt and Cathy Hill, nieces; Susan Page, Amy Rose, nephew, Michael Warren and grandchildren; Maverick and Preston. Thomas is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Tommy was born on December 8, 1962, in Nashville, Tennessee to the late James and Dorothea Bates. He loved being in the outdoors fishing, golfing and being near the ocean. He was a fan of the Tennessee Titans and basketball star Lebron James. Tommy loved classic rock and was known to play air guitar to his favorite songs. He loved seafood, was a master of nicknames, and even had a green thumb. Tommy was a private, tender hearted man who loved his family dearly.
