Thomas McBride Elizer, a kind and outgoing man known for his generous spirit and love of family, passed away on June 11, 2026. Born on April 9, 1993, in Nashville, Tennessee, Thomas lived a life filled with joy, service, and memorable moments treasured by all who knew him.
Thomas was someone who would do anything to help others, always ready with a smile and a willing heart. He loved to travel, especially enjoying trips with his family to the beautiful mountains of East Tennessee and peaceful days by the beach. One of Thomas’ favorite things was finding a quiet spot by the water where he could savor a cup of coffee and have a moment of conversation with God. It was these simple pleasures that brought him much comfort and happiness.
A true enthusiast of celebrations, Thomas was famously the first in his neighborhood to decorate for holidays. He especially loved the Fourth of July and Christmas. Each year, as soon as the fireworks tents opened, Thomas would rush to stock up on fireworks. He loved putting on spectacular displays that brought joy to the neighborhood. Neighbors and their children would gather in lawn chairs around the Elizer family home, eagerly awaiting the show Thomas had carefully planned, a tradition that brought warmth and unity to many.
Aside from his festive spirit, Thomas was also a talented cook. He had a special gift for making the very best grilled cheese sandwiches, and cheese was truly a must in his world. His culinary talents added a wonderful flavor to family times and friendly gatherings alike.
Thomas is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Layla Elizer; his mom and best friend, Libby Elizer; his father, Roger Elizer; his sister, Sarah Elizer; his nephew, Jeremy Barber; his uncle, Wesley “Odell” Elizer (Dorris Elizer); uncle Danny Holt (Debbie Holt); and numerous cousins. These family members cherish the memories and love they shared with Thomas, feeling his absence deeply but holding him forever in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray and Shirlan Holt; his paternal grandparents, Mary and John Wesley Elizer; and his uncle, John Howard Elizer. Their memories live on through Thomas’ story and the legacy of kindness and joy he leaves behind.
