Timothy Jhed Simmons, affectionately known as “Tim,” passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the age of 68. He was born on April 2, 1958, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Thomas Owen Simmons, Sr. and Willie B. Beauchamp.
Tim was a hardworking and dedicated man who took great pride in everything he did. Since 2006, he had served as a maintenance superintendent at Stevenson Meat Company. Prior to that, he devoted 30 years of his career to COI and also worked at Rudy Farms. Throughout his life, Tim developed a deep love for horses. He enjoyed raising and training horses, spent time training them at a racehorse farm, and participated in barrel racing. His passion for horses was something he carried with him throughout his life. He especially loved attending horse shows to support his wife, Tina, and never hesitated to travel out of town to cheer her on.
When he wasn't spending time with his horses, Tim enjoyed watching old country westerns, especially those starring John Wayne. Among his favorite movies were Tombstone and Secretariat, both reflecting his love for the Western lifestyle and the world of horses.
Above all else, Tim loved the Lord and cherished his family. He was a man of genuine character, with a larger-than-life personality and a smile that could light up any room. Tim had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, whether they were lifelong friends or someone he had just met. He never knew a stranger and had a way of making people feel as though they had known him forever. His kindness, sincerity, and warmhearted nature left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.
Tim's love for his family was immeasurable, and the memories made together will forever be treasured. His unwavering faith, infectious smile, and genuine love for others will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Owen Simmons, Sr. and Willie B. Beauchamp; his brother, Todd Simmons; and his daughter, Erin Michelle Simmons.
He is survived by his loving wife, Tina Marie Simmons; his children, Stephanie Oliver (Jon), Chance Simmons (Chelsea), Megan Leigh Bratton (Jesse), and Allison Kay Tornquist (Jamie); his grandchildren, Cadence, Andrew, Ian, Eli, Gemma, Wyatt, Garrett, Kaleigh, and Marlie “Fred”; his brother, Thomas Owen “Tos” Simmons, Jr.; his nephew, Boone Simmons (Anna); his niece, Caroline Newland (Tyler); and many other family members and dear friends who will miss him tremendously.
A visitation will be held on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, located at 353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075. An additional visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
Tim will be remembered for his steadfast faith, his love of horses, his devotion to his family, and the warmth and kindness he so freely shared with others. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he gave and the memories he created will remain with his family and friends for years to come.
