Troy Nelson

Troy Paul Nelson went home to be with the Lord in Heaven on December 27, 2014 after a battle with cancer. Troy was 44 years old. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ida Nelson and lifelong companion Ebony. He is survived by wife, Brandy Nelson, children Brandyn, Brody and Reese, father Jerry Nelson, sister Sheila and brother, Dick Nelson, along with nieces and nephews.

Troy grew up in Albert Lea MN where the love of drums began. Through Troy's dedication, persistence, and passion he was able to tour all over the US and overseas, a privilege he never took for granted. Troy has played with an enormous number of musicians, including the hardest working band in country music, Ricochet Troy has gained an army of friends throughout his musical career, he was easy to love, fun to like, and an absolute joy to be around. If he captivated you with his smile, entertained you on the drums, the recipient of great advice, or made you laugh after a joke you were blessed. Troy loved being on stage and entertaining the fans with crazy high stick throws. Troy also loved being home spending time with his family and puppies. We enjoyed many laughs, great food, words of wisdom, political explanations, and history education, inspiration, and encouragement. Troy was a giver, a pleaser, best friend, and so much more.

Troy enjoyed sharing the stage with each and every one of you.
