William “Bill” Harry Johnson, age 87, of Hendersonville, Tennessee passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Bill was born in Syracuse, New York on June 2, 1938, to the late Charles and Vivian Johnson.
After graduating from Guelph High School, Bill continued his education at Ryerson University in Toronto. At the young age of 19, he proudly served our country in the United States Navy from January 1958 until December 1961.In his later years, Bill and his family found their home in Hendersonville, Tennessee. He was a franchisor of Bonanza and Ponderosa. Involving themselves in the community, they attended First Baptist Church Hendersonville.
Bill became a member of the Bluegrass Country Club where played golf. Bill devoted his time to his family and enjoyed activities together like boating, golf, singing with the neighborhood garage band, and watching hockey.In his spare time, you would’ve found Bill in his spotless garage smoking a cigar and cleaning his car. Bill loved listening to Frank Sinatra and fine dining with a perfectly cooked steak sitting next to either a martini or his favorite scotch.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents listed above, and his beloved daughter, Angela Woodard Black.He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-three years, Anne Crookes Johnson.
He also leaves behind to cherish his memories, his son, Charles “Chuck” (Cindy) Johnson; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson and Kolton Woodard; and great granddaughter, Alexandria Johnson.Bill will be laid to rest next to his late daughter, Angela in Hiawatha, Canada.Celebration of life will be held at Foxland event center Friday, August 29, 2025 at 5:oopm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alive Hospice of Nashville, Tennessee located on Patterson street.
