William Vaughn

William Griffen Vaughn Jr., age 72, of Cedar Hill passed away on August 12, 2025. William was born on January 2, 1953 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late William Griffen Vaughn Sr. and Lounell Lee Vaughn. He leaves behind a legacy marked by his unwavering faith and passion for the simple joys of life.

A dedicated member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church, William found deep purpose and fulfillment through his involvement in the church. His faith was evident in his active participation, both as a faithful member and as a Sunday School teacher.

William was known for his dedication to his hobbies, which included woodworking, creating intricate wooden puzzles, fishing, operating HAM radios, and nurturing his garden. Each of these activities brought him immense joy and allowed him to connect with nature and the world around him. His craftsmanship in woodworking was a testament to his patience and creativity, and he held a special place in his heart for the peace that fishing brought him.

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Gail.

William is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nancy Vaughn; his son, Bill Vaughn (Jennifer); his grandchildren, Adam Vaughn and Hannah Vaughn; his sister, Lynne (Donnie); and a host of other family members who love him.

Visitation for friends and family will take place on August 14, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and again on August 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Grace Missionary Baptist Church, located at 103 Ingrid Way, Hendersonville, TN. A funeral service will follow on August 15, starting at 1:00 PM, concluding with a burial at Hendersonville Memory Gardens, Funeral Home & Cremation Center at 3:00 PM.

Pallbearers will be Adam Chapman, Timothy Horton, Andrew Horton, Robert Crabtree, Donnie Walls, Joe Armstrong, Kyle Mahaney, and Bristol Sisco. Honorary pallbearers are Granville Chapman, Jonathon Horton, and Adam Vaughn.
