Anthony “Tony” Alan Ogburn

Tony was born in Kansas City, KS and raised in Overland Park, KS. He was the youngest son of Don and Phyllis Ogburn.

Tony graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School and Pittsburgh State University in 1984.  After graduating, he went to work for GM and spent over 37 years of dedicated service to GM.   In November of 1986 he met the mother of his children, Beatriz Garcia.  They were married in June of 1990 and shared three lovely and kind children.

The only thing more important to Tony than having fun and making people laugh were his Kids.  Tony not only guided them into adulthood but was their great friend.  Nolan, Alan and Mary were his pride and joy.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Phyllis.  He is survived by his children; Nolan, Alan, and Mary (Hendersonville, TN); the mother of his children, Beatriz (Hendersonville, TN); his brothers, Mike (Panama City, FL), Chris (Ottawa, KS) and Pat (Liberty, MO); his sister; Lisa Ogburn-Watkins (Lee’s Summit, MO); along with several nephews and grandnieces.  Tony also has many, many friends across the US.

A visitation for family and friends of Tony will be held from 11am-1pm on the morning of Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Hendersonville Funeral Home in Hendersonville, TN  In Tony Ogburn fashion, a celebration of life will be held after the visitation at Tony’s home.  Recommended attire for both events is anything Tennessee Titans, KU Jayhawks, Pitt State Gorillas, and/or general lake attire.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers to make donations to Tony’s children in care of: Nolan Ogburn 106 Edgewater Ct. Hendersonville, TN 37075
