Craig Bauman

July 1, 1952 — February 25, 2023

White House

Craig Anthony Bauman, 70, passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2023.  A resident of White House for 29 years, Craig was a long-time member of Christian Gospel Temple/New Life Fellowship Church. He was born in San Bernardino, California on July 1, 1952 to the late Katharine A. Bauman and USAF Major, Bernard F. Bauman. Craig traveled the U.S. during his childhood, living across the states and at one time even living in Germany.

In 1971, he began working at Southeast Doctors Hospital in Maywood, CA where he met his future wife, Bea Sedillo. The two were married in Los Angeles in 1972 and renewed their vows with friends and family in Huntington Park in 1974.  Craig worked at Santa Fe Railroad where he started his career as a Freight Claims Investigator. His love of traveling from early childhood never diminished and took him to all 50 states. Craig had most US highways and freeways memorized and was able recollect exact mileage between geographical points without the use of a map. He was quick-witted and had a passion for problem-solving, numbers puzzles, and was self-educated in numismatics -the study and collection of coins, currency, and stamps. He enjoyed family game nights, playing card games, collecting antiques, trains, trucks, and even a coffee mug to commemorate each of the 50 states he visited.

Loved by all that knew him, the loss of this cherished husband, father, brother, grandpa, and friend is met with heart-breaking grief.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Katharine (Sullivan) Bauman; father Major Bernard F. Bauman; and sister, Judith A. Bauman.

Craig is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bea Bauman; daughters Ann-René Bauman-Nearing (Robert Nearing) of Corona, CA, Desireé Farmer (Cris Farmer) of Hendersonville, TN; and son Craig A. Bauman II of Gallatin, TN;  grandchild, Jared Anthony Bauman of Hendersonville, TN.  And sister, Mary Nickerson (Jeffrey) of Murrieta, CA; and brother, Patrick E. Bauman of Fallbrook, CA.
