LEOTA J. ABEE, 88, passed to her heavenly home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Leota was born in Blanco, Oklahoma on June 12, 1934, to the late Leonard and Lona Calvert. She was also preceded in death by the love of her life, Ralph Abee; sister Oleta; and sister/best friend Wanda Calvert Peek. She is survived by her daughters Valerie (Jay) Laws and Lisa (Tom) Peters; grandchildren, Stephen (Erica) Laws and great-grandchild Lena; Matthew Laws, Sam Laws, Spencer (Elle) Peters, Tyler Peters, and Tess (fiancé Xavier Brown) Peters; nephews, Jeffery and Brett Kiesel; niece, Marla Capps.

Leota loved to sew and was an avid quilter, garden, play games and complete puzzles, and was the reigning Yahtzee queen.  She fostered a love of nature and camping in her children and grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. Leota and Ralph moved from California to Hendersonville in 1995 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They were active members in their California church, Bell Gardens Baptist, and Hendersonville Baptist Church, where they made life-long friends.

A Life Celebration will be held on Friday, November 25, 2022, at 11am in the Chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home. Private interment to follow service. Jeff Lake from Hendersonville Baptist Church will officiate the Life Celebration service.
