Linda Coulter

December 4, 1946 — April 9, 2023

Hendersonville, TN

Linda Turner Coulter, 76, of Hendersonville, TN and Chattanooga, TN, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 9th. She was surrounded by her husband, two sons, and their spouses who held her close and sang her along her great journey. Born December 4th, 1946 in Chattanooga, Linda Turner was the second of four children born to Pelham and Effie Turner. She graduated Brainerd High School in 1964. On April 13, 1968, she married Frank A. Coulter, Jr. of Hixson, TN and quit a successful secretarial career with Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga to become the COO of the Frank & Linda Coulter family where she excelled in her leadership position as Wife and Mother. Her full-time job as best mom ever included the normal duties of clothing, feeding, and loving but she took her position very seriously and later branched out to become head chauffeur to countless piano lessons, choir practices, play rehearsals, wrestling matches and ball games. Those under her care thrived. She will best be remembered as a mom to many and giver of hugs who went by various names including Mama C, The Vish (short for vision), Miss Linda, and Queen of Hendersonville (after the family relocated there in 1982). She was loved by all who knew her and often received notes and calls letting her know how an act of kindness she’d bestowed had brightened someone’s day or made a difference in their life. She was a spreader of joy with a smile as big as her heart.

Outside her work life she participated in and helped lead numerous groups and organizations and spent countless afternoons bidding high in various bridge clubs.

She was preceded in death by her father Pelham Turner, mother Effie Cordell and brother Bobby R. Turner. She is survived by her husband of 54 years and 361 days, Frank, sons Scott (Dave Gaebler) and Brian (Amy), grandchildren Kadence and Kenna, siblings William Turner (Dolores) and Lana Sue Turner, and numerous nieces and nephews. Linda asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Socity. The family asks that in honor and memory of her beautiful life you take the time to offer a smile, a kind gesture or a helping hand to someone during your day.
