Rose Fort

Rose Marie Fort, age 94, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023, with her family by her side.  Rose was born on February 2, 1929, to Frank and Mary (Avylla) Gracia in Tauton, Massachucetts.

Rose was a military wife prior moving to Hendersonville in 1974.  Rose enjoyed playing the piano and bowling.  She became an active member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church, participating in many classes and study groups throughout the years.  She loved her church family, but most importantly, she loved being with her family.  Her sense of love will be dearly missed.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Ben Fort; her parents Frank and Mary Gracia; sons in law Creig Soeder and Rudy Johnson; her brothers Robert Gracia and Ellman Gracia; and sisters Louise Gomes and Beatrice Tremblay.  She is survived by her daughters Carolyn (Allen) Jones, Janet Soeder, Cheryl (Dave) Thomas, and Nancy Johnson.  In addition, she is survived by 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 1pm-2pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home.  A funeral service will begin at 2pm with burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Colton Merchant, Chris Jones, Nathan Johnson, Jonathan Gleaton, Scott Walker, Andy Thigpen, and Clay Bowen.
